A watch party lets everyone in a room watch the same title at the same time, in sync.
Create one#
Start from a title that has been recommended in a room.
- Choose Watch Party.
- Pick the Date (Today, Tomorrow or Choose a day) and the Time. The time must be in the future.
- For a series, choose the Season and Episode.
- Decide whether to Allow users to pause and whether to Enable chat.
- Choose Create.
Only one watch party can exist for the same title in a room.
Join#
Members see the party as Scheduled for …, with the Host and how many have joined. Choose Join, or Leave if you change your mind. The host gets a notification when someone joins.
Run it#
The host controls the session:
- Start Watch Party begins it.
- Cancel Watch Party cancels before it starts. Press again to confirm.
- End Watch Party ends it. Press again to confirm.
Others who arrive late choose Join Watch Party, or Resume after a break.
While you watch#
- Playback stays in sync with the host.
- If someone pauses, you see Paused by …. If the host leaves you see Host offline, reconnecting… and can Continue alone.
- With chat on, press OK to send a message, or use the microphone to record a chat message. Your voice is turned into text. See Privacy and your data.
If something goes wrong#

Everyone needs the title
Each person plays the title in their own app or source. Hegemon keeps the timing in sync but does not stream the video.
