Internal Player
Every option in the Internal Player panel: smart autoplay, Up Next, the configuration server and your add-ons.
Settings → App Settings → Internal Player
The panel text reads Manage Stremio addons for internal playback. It has four cards.
Add-ons are third-party services
Hegemon does not provide, check or endorse their content. Make sure you have the right to watch whatever you play.
Smart Autoplay#
Lets Hegemon pick the best stream for your connection and your TV.
Enable Smart Autoplay#
A switch. When on, Hegemon chooses the best stream automatically, looking at your bandwidth, the codecs your TV can decode (such as HEVC and AV1) and HDR support.
The diagnostic. Turning the switch on runs a test (Testing bandwidth and device capabilities…). The result stays visible in a small card below the switch:
- Internet speed, with the speed per stream
- Video codecs your TV supports
- Quality score out of 100 (Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor), with ping, jitter and packet loss
- Audio codecs
Before any test the card says Not tested yet. If the test fails, Hegemon uses basic autoplay and shows the reason.
Prefer resolution over quality#
Appears only when Smart Autoplay is on.
- On: favors higher resolution (4K, 1080p) over advanced codecs.
- Off: prefers advanced codecs such as HEVC and HDR.
Up Next#
Plays the next episode and shows an Up Next prompt near the end. The card has no on/off switch; these options tune it.
| Option | What it does | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smart detection (beta) | Tries to find the best moment to show the prompt. Falls back to the timings below if it cannot | On / off | Off |
| Fallback timing (TV shows) | Seconds before the end when the prompt appears. Use the − and + buttons | 10 to 120 s, in steps of 5 | 45 s |
| Fallback timing (movies) | The same, for films | 10 to 180 s, in steps of 10 | 60 s |
| Countdown duration | How long the countdown lasts. Press OK to cycle | 5, 10, 15 or 20 s | 15 s |
| Overlay position | Where the prompt sits. Press OK to cycle: bottom right, bottom left, top left, top right | Four corners | Bottom right |
Web configuration#
Typing a long address with a remote is slow. This card lets you configure add-ons from your phone or computer.
- Choose Start configuration server. Hegemon shows an address and a QR code.
- Scan the QR code or open the address on your phone or computer, on the same network. The text says Open web interface on your phone or PC to add addons.
- Add your add-ons on that page.
- Choose Stop server on the TV when you are done.
This web page is the way to add an add-on. The TV panel itself does not have an add-by-address field.
Installed add-ons#
The list of add-ons you added. Each shows:
- the name,
- the version and what it provides, such as streams or subtitles,
- a short description,
- a switch labelled Enabled or Disabled,
- a trash can to remove it.
With none installed the panel says No addons installed. Add an addon to get started.
