Privacy and your data
A plain-language summary of what stays on your TV, what is sent to others and how to delete it.
The full rules are in the Privacy Policy. Here is the short version.
What stays on your TV#
Your library, settings, watch progress, sign-in tokens and your Echo identity are stored on the device. We do not receive them. There are no accounts, no ads and no analytics or crash-reporting services in the app.
What is sent, and when#
Only when you use a feature:
| Feature | Sent to |
|---|---|
| Titles, posters, ratings, trailers | TMDB, OMDb, Fanart.tv and similar services |
| Watch tracking | Trakt, Simkl or WeTrakr, only if you connect them |
| Your media servers | The server you add |
| Weather | Open-Meteo and location services |
| AI assistant | Your request and the short conversation history, with no account or viewing history |
| Voice | The speech service on your TV |
| Echo | Your friends, encrypted end to end. Relays only see technical connection data |
These services necessarily see your IP address.
Notification access#
Optional. It lets Hegemon show your notifications and detect what you play in other apps for Global Scrobble. You can turn it off in Android settings.
Delete everything#
See Delete your data. In short: clear the app's data or uninstall it, disconnect services and remove Echo friends.
