Appearance
Every option in the Appearance panel: the focus border, the interface size and the display information.
Settings → App Settings → Appearance
This panel has three items. Changes apply straight away.
Flying focus border#
An on/off switch.
- Off (default): the classic focus border. A frame appears on the item you select.
- On: an animated border that slides smoothly from one item to the next.
The animated border uses more of the TV's resources. If the interface feels slow, keep it off.
Interface scaling#
Chooses how large the interface is. Pick one of five sizes:
| Choice | Scale |
|---|---|
| Very small | 0.5× |
| Small | 0.75× |
| Medium | 1× (the default) |
| Large | 1.5× |
| Very large | 2× |
When you choose a size, the screen reloads to apply it, and the choice is remembered after a restart.
Use a smaller size on a high-resolution TV so more fits on screen, and a larger one if you sit far from the TV or text looks small.
Current display information#
Select Current display information to open or close a small card with what Hegemon detects about your screen:
- Resolution
- Density
- DPI
- Text scaling
It is useful when you report a layout problem or when something looks too large or too small.
On a slow TV
Keep the flying border off, set the Spotlight animation to off and try a smaller interface size.
