Simkl
Connect Simkl and learn what every sync option does, on and off.
Simkl works much like Trakt. Connect it to keep your history and progress in sync.
Connect#
- Open Settings → App Settings → Accounts and select Simkl.
- Choose Connect on Android TV (recommended). Hegemon shows a QR code and a code. On your phone or computer, scan the code or open the address and enter it.
- Approve the access. The screen shows User: your name under Connected account.
You can also choose Connect with browser.
Every option explained#
Re-sync watched history#
A Sync now button. It pulls your watched movies and shows from Simkl again and reports Synced N items.
- Use it when: watched badges are missing or wrong.
Use Simkl for progress tracking#
- On: Simkl's progress takes priority for Continue watching and Watch Next.
- Off: Hegemon uses the progress stored on this device.
Only one service can own progress. Turning this on turns off Trakt and WeTrakr progress. See Sync and scrobble.
Global Scrobble#
- On: Hegemon records what you watch in other apps and sends it to Simkl. It needs notification access.
- Off: Nothing is recorded from other apps.
Calendar sync#
- On: Imports your upcoming shows and movies from Simkl and shows notifications.
- Off: No calendar data and no calendar notifications.
Sync watch status#
- On: Marking a movie, a show, an episode or a whole season Watched or Unwatched in Hegemon also updates Simkl.
- Off: Your marks stay in Hegemon only.
Disconnect#
Removes Hegemon's access on this device.
Lists#
Simkl is available as a row source, so its lists can appear on your home screen.
