Trakt

Connect your Trakt account and learn what every sync option does, on and off.

Trakt keeps your viewing history and lists in the cloud. Connect it and Hegemon can show your progress, your lists and your upcoming episodes.

Connect#

Open Settings → App Settings → Accounts and select Trakt.tv.
Choose Connect on Android TV (recommended). Hegemon shows a QR code and a short code.
On your phone, scan the QR code, or open the address shown and type the code. The code expires after a few minutes; if it does, start again.
Approve the access on Trakt. The screen then shows User: your name under Connected account.

Prefer to sign in on the TV itself? Choose Connect with browser and follow Open authentication link.

Every option explained#

Under Synchronization you will find these, in this order.

Re-sync watched history#

A Sync now button. It pulls your full list of watched movies and shows from Trakt again. It shows Syncing…, then Synced N items, or an error message.

Use it when: watched badges are missing or wrong.

Use Trakt for progress tracking#

Decides where your resume points come from.

On: Trakt's progress takes priority. Continue watching and Watch Next use the progress stored in Trakt, so it follows you between devices.
Off: Hegemon uses the progress stored on this device.

Only one service can own progress. Turning this on turns off the same switch for Simkl and WeTrakr. See Sync and scrobble.

Global Scrobble#

Records what you watch in other apps.

On: Hegemon tracks your viewing progress across other streaming apps and sends it to Trakt as you watch. It needs notification access, see Sync and scrobble.
Off: Nothing is recorded from other apps.

Calendar sync#

On: Hegemon imports the upcoming shows and movies from Trakt and shows notifications such as New episodes today, Premieres coming soon and New movies today.
Off: No calendar data and no calendar notifications.

Sync watch status#

On: When you mark a movie, a show, an episode or a whole season Watched or Unwatched in Hegemon, the change is sent to your Trakt account.
Off: Your marks stay in Hegemon only.

Disconnect#

Removes Hegemon's access on this device. To delete data held by Trakt, use your Trakt account.

Use your Trakt lists#

Once connected, Trakt appears as a row source: Watchlist, In Progress, Watch History, Hidden Gems, Because You Watched, your personal lists and public lists. See Lists.

If something fails#

Hegemon tells you why: no internet, a slow connection, authentication failed, too many requests (wait a moment) or a Trakt server error. See Troubleshooting.
