Devices & sync

Every option in the Devices & sync panel, and every step of linking another device with a PIN.

What the switch starts#

While Sync between my devices is on, your TV runs a private peer-to-peer node in the background. It is announced to discovery and relay servers so your devices and friends can find it. A notification shows while it runs, and it uses some network and battery. Direct connections can reveal your IP address to the devices you connect with. Everything exchanged is encrypted. Turn the switch off to stop it.

Add a device, step by step#

On the first device

  1. Choose Add a device (show PIN). A PIN appears. It is valid for 10 minutes and works once.
  2. When the new device connects, a screen says “name” wants to join and shows a large confirmation code.
  3. Compare it with the code on the new device. If they match, you can tick Include accounts (Trakt, Simkl, API keys) so the new device is signed in too.
  4. Choose Approve, or Deny.

On the new device

  1. Choose Join an existing device (enter PIN) and type the PIN on the on-screen keypad.
  2. The screen warns that joining replaces this device's settings, accounts, rows and lists with the group's.
  3. It shows Connecting…, then a confirmation code. Check that it matches the first device, which then approves.

Remove a device#

Select a device in the list, then choose Remove. It stops syncing with your other devices, but keeps its own data.
